This is a dedicated server. (clustering has been removed per an earlier reply from SpikyDragon (cheers) so that the "normal" actor upload prompt would exist available at an obelisk. (it is) But here is the weird office. One time I upload my player and then quit the game, my players .arkprofile file DISSAPPEARS from the SavedArks folder on the current map (server instance). So I cant manually move it. But, then, If I outset a make new, never played different server (map) instance on the defended server, join it, I am prompted if I desire to download my graphic symbol to the map. (yep each server is in it's own folder) So my arkprofile data goes SOMEWHERE when I upload at an obelisk on an existing map, which is practiced. And information technology appears I can then choose that actor in the new map, also good. The bad news is that during all the testing I have done there is now THREE "instances" of the same player profile available for download when I join a new map on the server (or redownload it on the aforementioned server I uploaded to originally if I wish) I just demand to know where this data goes after an obelisk upload and then I tin delete all these "ghosts" Thanks in advance. EDIT.. Hmmm it looks similar it may go to the steam cloud. I just started a new Unmarried PLAYER game/map on my ain PC (not on the dedicated server) and information technology prompted me if I wanted to use one of those uploaded characters from my defended server testing! So it looks like this has nothing to do with ASM, which is worse IMO as I certainly don't think there is a way for me to delete those players from steamcloud… EDIT two.. Well, it was not pretty, but I stock-still it. I simply went ahead and picked ane of those profiles, launched the map (singleplayer game), quit and then deleted the game from the ARK game launch carte du jour. So only like shampoo...lather, rinse, echo until all the uploaded players were "used up" then the game was deleted. And then it looks like i'm skilful when I upload "for existent" only nevertheless a bit concerned any objects (arkdata) or dinos I put in there with me would exist available the same way. It would be squeamish if I knew exactly HOW that worked, fifty-fifty though information technology looks like it does. I'chiliad weird that manner.. :-) Now to effort all this with objects saved into the obelisks arkdata tab and some dinos too to see what happens with that..... | | | | Postal service by spikeydragoon on Jul 12, 2018 xix:45:20 GMT -5 sli , items, dinos, players all work the same mode. Information technology used to get to a temp folder but i think your correct it now goes to steamcloud when uploading/downloading. Your correct that when uploading it is removed from the savedark folder since it doesnt want duplicates in case you lot download graphic symbol once more on that map. I could be wrong about the steam cloud you can probly bank check the wiki to find out but it sounds right. IF you lot wanted to manually transfer you would simply just logout then copy the file over dont upload it. So if yous wanted to get through all the trouble to re-create it over you could enable transfers once again and just manually re-create stuff just the easier option is merely to upload/download. | | sli New Fellow member Posts: 23 Likes: 0 | Post by sli on Jul 13, 2018 7:18:13 GMT -5 I can confirm this as I am now able to download data in a new singleplayer game on my own PC that contains a role player (AND objects AND dino's) I uploaded on my ain separate defended server! (and the same thing applies when joining a new map on the defended server besides after uploading the graphic symbol/objects/dinos in an existing game) So, yes. This basically negates my need to get clustering to work in guild to transfer/ascend on the dedicated server (My remote player buddies would have been fine either manner) This has been a thorn in my side for well over a year and I have spent countless hours and nearly spent over $300.00 for a NAT enabled router Simply so I could employ the characteristic. Whew! And a special thank you to yous for trying to assist the whole time. It is very much appreciated! | | | | Post by spikeydragoon on Jul xiii, 2018 7:42:30 GMT -5 sli , np always happy to assistance save the $$$ | |
